How We Help

Tell us what is happening and we will point you to the right place. Most clients arrive with one of these:

Dispute Resolution: Your Options

01

Negotiation

Lowest cost

Structured settlement discussions between the parties, led by us on your behalf. The cheapest of the dispute resolution methods and the first one we try. Most disputes end here.

02

Mediation

Most disputes end here

An independent mediator spends a day moving between the parties until a deal is reached. Confidential, without prejudice and binding once signed. Settlement rates are high, and mediation for business disputes can be held in person or as online dispute resolution by video.

03

Arbitration

When a binding decision is needed

A private judge decides your dispute and the decision binds both sides. Common where a contract requires it and useful when you need a final answer without a public hearing.

Get Legal Clarity Today

Outline your dispute and we will respond with a clear fixed fee quote the same day. Our prices are around 30% cheaper than a standard law firm because you work directly with a barrister. No hourly billing surprises.

Every quote is fixed before work begins. If the scope changes, we agree a new price with you first.

What Alternative Dispute Resolution Means

Alternative dispute resolution, usually shortened to ADR, means settling a legal dispute without asking a court to decide it. Mediation means a neutral third party helping both sides reach their own agreement. Arbitration means a private judge deciding for you. Together with structured negotiation, these are the main forms of non court dispute resolution, and courts in the UK now expect businesses to attempt them before issuing proceedings. Judges can punish parties on costs when they refuse unreasonably.

That expectation is good news. ADR is nearly always faster and cheaper than litigation, and it is private. Your dispute stays out of public judgments and out of Google results. For most of the businesses we act for, that matters almost as much as the money.

The Dispute Resolution Process

01. Tell us about your dispute

We respond the same day with an honest view of your position and a fixed fee quote.

02. We choose the right route

Not every dispute suits mediation and not every dispute needs arbitration. We recommend the option among the alternative dispute resolution methods that gets you the best outcome for the least cost.

03. We resolve it

We prepare your case properly, because the best settlements go to the party that arrives ready to win in court even when neither side wants to go there.

When Court Is Still the Right Answer

ADR is not always the answer. Some opponents only move when proceedings are issued. Some disputes need an injunction today, not a mediation next month. And occasionally a point of principle is worth a public judgment. When court is necessary, our litigation expertise and persuasive advocacy protect your commercial rights. The point is that court should be a decision, not a default. Whether you are dealing with a shareholder dispute, a director dispute or a partnership dispute, we tell you honestly which route serves you best.
